Accessing Government Support For First Home Buyers
The First Home Buyers Assistance Scheme offers eligible first home buyers a full or partial exemption on transfer duty (or stamp duty as it was previously known as). To be eligible, you must be buying your first home in Australia and the property (including the land) must be valued at less than $800,000.
As a first home buyer in NSW you may also be eligible for $10000 under the First Home-owner Grant. To be eligible, you must be buying or building your first home, however the home has to be new with no one having lived in it. The property (including land) must also be valued at less than $750,000.
